Taxi driver
Charlottetown & Prince Edward Island
Pick up passengers across PEI — city rides, airport runs, cruise port transfers, golf outings, and long-distance trips. You'll use the Shaheen Driver app to receive offers, navigate, and complete rides professionally.
What you need
- Valid PEI taxi driver's licence (required — a Class 5 licence alone is not sufficient for commercial taxi work)
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Clean driving record and professional attitude
- Reliable vehicle (sedan, SUV, or minivan) with valid commercial taxi insurance
- Willing to meet all PEI regulatory taxi standards before going on the road
- Smartphone for the Shaheen Driver app
- Strong knowledge of Charlottetown and PEI roads
Safety & compliance
Shaheen Taxi operates to professional, regulated standards. We expect every driver and vehicle on our platform to meet Prince Edward Island taxi requirements — for passenger safety, legal compliance, and peace of mind.
PEI taxi licence required
Drivers must hold a valid PEI taxi driver's licence. A standard Class 5 licence does not authorize paid passenger-for-hire service on its own.
Commercial taxi insurance
Every vehicle used for Shaheen Taxi rides must carry proper commercial taxi insurance. Personal auto coverage is not acceptable for transporting paying passengers.
PEI regulatory standards
Drivers are required to meet PEI regulatory taxi standards, including licensing, vehicle requirements, and any conditions set by provincial authorities.
Insured rides for passengers
All rides dispatched through Shaheen Taxi operate under commercial taxi coverage, so passengers travel with a properly licensed, insured transportation provider.
